What Is Asterian Astrology?

Asterian Astrology is not your typical star sign reading. It’s a sidereal-based system that uses the actual astronomical positions of the planets in relation to the constellations - bringing astrology back to its roots in observable science.

Unlike tropical astrology, which follows the Earth’s seasonal cycle and no longer matches the sky above due to axial precession, Asterian Astrology reflects the real-time planetary positions. This makes it more accurate, relevant, and deeply aligned with both science and soul.

How Asterian Differs from Tropical Astrology

  • Tropical Astrology:
    Most Western astrology uses a symbolic system based on the seasons rather than the actual night sky. Because the Earth’s axis slowly shifts over time (a movement called precession), the tropical zodiac has drifted by about 24 degrees, meaning most people’s “sun sign” no longer matches the constellation actually behind the Sun at birth.

  • Asterian (Sidereal) Astrology:
    Tracks planets against the real constellations, as observed by astronomers. Your Asterian chart will be very different from the tropical one you’re familiar with, often unlocking insights you’ve never encountered before. Asterian Astrology is rooted in ancient Babylonian and Greco-Roman traditions, refined for modern times by Jade Sol Luna, the first person to translate an ancient Vedic astrological text “The Yavanajataka” into its original Greco-Roman format.

Asterian Natal & Karma Reading

Your Asterian Natal & Karma Reading is a foundational exploration of the deeper patterns held within your birth chart. Rather than focusing only on personality traits or prediction, Asterian Astrology looks at the larger karmic architecture of your life: the qualities you arrived with, the lessons you are here to meet, the gifts you are here to develop, and the themes that may continue to repeat until they are more fully understood.

The reading explores your principal Asterian star influences and soul identity, together with the four central areas of the Asterian system: Dharma, your purpose, natural talents and direction; Artha, your relationship with work, prosperity and material life; Kama, your desires, relationships, attraction and the forces that move you; and Moksha, your spiritual development, liberation and deeper path of growth.

We also look at karmic and past-life themes, emotional and relationship patterns, your Asterian animal totem, and the significant planetary cycles shaping your present chapter. The aim is to help you understand not only what is happening in your life, but the deeper pattern beneath it, so that you can relate to yourself and your circumstances with greater clarity, perspective and choice.

You are welcome to submit up to five questions in advance of your reading. These may relate to areas such as relationships, career, purpose, family, spiritual development or other matters that feel particularly important to you. Where relevant, I will weave your questions into the wider interpretation of your chart, rather than treating them as separate from the reading. For live sessions, there will also be time for clarification where possible. For recorded readings, your questions will be addressed within the recording.

Questions should relate primarily to your own natal chart. More extensive work involving another person's chart, relationship compatibility, detailed relocation astrology or substantial predictive analysis may be better suited to a separate specialised reading.

This reading can be especially valuable during times of transition, uncertainty or change, or simply if you feel called to understand yourself more deeply. It offers a rich overview of your chart and can also provide a strong foundation for later readings focused on relationships, career, location, timing or other specific areas of life.

This specialised Asterian Astrology reading focuses on the family, ancestral and karmic patterns that may be influencing your relationships, emotional life, sense of belonging and the way you move through the world.

Rather than looking broadly at every area of your birth chart, this reading goes much more deeply into the signatures connected with family, parents, inherited patterns and repeating relational themes. We explore the dynamics you may have absorbed through your family system, the roles you may have unconsciously taken on, and the areas of life in which ancestral history may still be exerting an influence.

Your reading may explore:

It can also be used as preparation for Family Constellations work. Astrology does not determine what will emerge in a constellation, but it can offer another lens through which to recognise the deeper patterns asking for attention.

The intention is not to reduce your family story to your birth chart, but to bring greater clarity to the threads running through it, so that you can begin to distinguish what belongs to you from what may have been inherited.
